REIKI
Reiki is a unique system of energy healing, a concept founded by a Japanese doctor, Mikao Usui, in the early 20th Century. Rei - Universal Ki - Life Energy. In yoga a similar energy is used although it is called Prana (Sanskrit).
Reiki is non invasive, with either a light touch or hands slightly above the body, to balance the body's energy flow through its' natural energy centres (known as Chakras). It is a complimentary therapy, widely recognised for its benefits in managing mental and emotional health helping in the relieve of stress, anxiety, grief and depression, and physical conditions including fibromyalgia, back pain, fatigue, low energy, inflammatory disorders and more.
I have an extensive medical history myself including childhood bone cancer, arthritis, cardiomyopathy, to more recent emergency surgeries to my bowel, stoma surgery, a brain bleed, a kidney tumour and a TIA (mini stroke). I have benefitted from Reiki personally, both when I had a frozen shoulder from emotional pain of grief and more recently now that I have long term chronic health issues. I know how effective it can be and want to pass my passion for Reiki to others.
Reiki can also be given as distance healing. This is just as effective as hands-on and often it is a more intense experience. It can be a wonderful gift to yourself if you can't or don't wish to travel, or to a friend or family member. Some prefer to have this experience in their own home, and I have known clients to either fall asleep at the end of the treatment or leap up and clean their home with their new found energy. Each individual is different and experiences Reiki in their own way.
